Acorn Meadow Designs LLC offers a broad spectrum of machinery CARE, UPGRADING, BUILDING and DESIGN services. Our mission is to solve machinery related problems so our customers can concentrate on serving their customers needs. Some solutions require simple maintenance, others completely new equipment. Our experienced personnel have worked in many industries and effectively apply their range of experience to solving our customer’s machinery & production problems.
The Company & Team
We are a small privately held corporation located in northern Rhode Island. The owner, Andrew Konnerth III, is a mechanical engineer with considerable experience with sensors and controls as well. He has 30+ years design and hands on experience working in a wide range of industries since graduating from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1975.
Most production engineering is performed or overseen by another degreed mechanical engineer, Steven Maccarone, who has extensive machine design experience with large capital equipment in the plastic industry as well as a variety of other applications. He also did a stint as a SolidWorks CAD trainer and service provider leading to his very thorough design approach and resulting documentation.
Technical work is performed and lead by Milton Patnode, a skilled and experienced welder and fabricator. His job description here is millwright which alludes to his wide range of abilities beyond welding to include precision assembly, machining, machinery set up and much more. His attention to detail and pride in workmanship represents exactly what Acorn Meadow Designs LLC is all about.
Additionally we have associates, both individuals and companies, that augment our abilities and whom we count on for expertise and man-power as need arises. We have years of experience with these partners and consider them invaluable team members.
Philosophy
We approach every situation from an engineering perspective in that our solutions are based on first understanding the true source of the problem and then selecting the most appropriate solution to meet our customer’s needs. We work closely with customer personnel who possess the best knowledge of the specific situation. To this we add our experience and training to allow the widest range of solutions to be considered. Together with our customers we select the best solution FOR THEM. Our goal is to be the first source our customers turn to help address production and machinery problems.
Facilities
Acorn Meadow Designs has both a permanent shop and a mobile shop to offer the best support for a given situation. Our permanent shop is in Lan-Rex Industrial Park, Smithfield RI, just off Rt 295. It is 2600sq ft and outfitted for supporting a wide range of machinery rebuild and new-build operations. We do all types of welding, general machining, and light sheet metal work. Whatever is necessary for machine building from frames to shafts to brackets and guards.
Our 24ft truck mounted mobile shop allows welding, milling, turning and fabricating to be done at our customers locations so we can most effectively get their operations up and running. When a production operation is down, whether for scheduled upgrading or unplanned repairs, it is our mission to minimize that interruption.
